How it works

How we work with anxiety at Auren

Four steps shaped around what you're actually bringing, not a generic worksheet. Practical tools for the loop, plus the deeper work of understanding what your anxiety is trying to tell you.

01

Map the alarm

We get specific about when your anxiety fires: what sets it off, how it shows up in your body, and what it's trying to protect.

02

Work with the system

We develop tools that actually fit your nervous system, with skills you'll use in real life, not just in session.

03

Go underneath

We explore what anxiety is defending, the younger parts of you that learned to stay vigilant, with care and at your pace.

04

Integrate & sustain

We refine what's working, plan for setbacks, and make sure the change holds after therapy ends.

Common questions

Before you book

If worry, racing thoughts, or physical tension are getting in the way of your sleep, work, relationships, or peace of mind, that's reason enough. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit; therapy helps whether things feel overwhelming or just persistently off.

We bill most insurance providers directly, so in many cases you won't pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so mention your provider during your free consult and we'll help you check.

Completely free, with zero obligation. It's a relaxed conversation to help you decide whether a therapist feels like the right fit before you commit to anything.

Both. We offer in-person sessions at our office at 1 Centrepointe Dr, Suite 404 in Ottawa, and secure virtual sessions anywhere in Ontario, so you can meet whichever way feels easiest.

Mostly listening. Your therapist will ask about what's bringing you in, what you'd like to be different, and a bit of background, at your pace. There's nothing to prepare, and you're never pushed to share more than you're ready to.

Absolutely. You can pick a specific therapist from the team above, or tell us your preferences (gender, language, or style) and we'll match you. Several of our therapists offer sessions in languages beyond English, including French, Farsi, Turkish, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
